Probably one of the most under appreciated scenes, and even though it’s so small and simple, it’s seriously one of my faves.
They were racing to get somewhere to help people, like they always do, but amidst all the craziness he just looks over at her and time stops and he calms down. He doesn’t even care that he took his eyes off the road, he just stopped. Keep in mind that Cora was in the backseat at the time, and he just stares at Lydia like she is the most amazing thing he will ever see in his life.

#let’s talk about this manip for a second #because this is so much more #this is the stilinski family when the supernatural shit in beacon hills dies down for 0.005 seconds #this is canon stydia #this is the sheriff wanting a picture with his son’s girlfriend because he needs physical proof that he actually got the girl #it’s lydia coming over to pick stiles up for a movie date #one that ends up with them choosing the seats furthest from the front to make out and steal each other’s popcorn #this is the sheriff stopping the couple short and pulling them in for a picture he will later frame and put on his desk at the station #stiles groans and rolls his eyes #dad, seriously #but lydia drags him by the hand and kisses his jawline just before the camera clicks #explaining the stupid grin on his face #this is the beginning of lydia staying over four out of seven days of the week #lydia and stiles cooking dinner (something not from a box) before the sheriff gets home #and having family meals every night with the two playing footsie under the table and the sheriff getting kicked in the crossfire #this is everything i want #and more. (edit by stydiaislove)
