What do you have against Betty joining the Serpents and going dark?

because the serpents are a notorious gang who have the potential to steer Betty’s future into a troublesome path, and her reason for joining (which is Jughead) would be because of an impulsive decision she made in a one-month relationship with her 16 year-old boyfriend. her joining the serpents because of bughead would be romanticizing her self-destruction. if it were a whole different script and she chose to join for reasons that included no romantic partner, then sure. but even so,  Betty is a character who has chosen to remain kind and calm and loving despite her troubled life (speaking from personal experience, its very difficult to maintain a smile on your face when you have a battle raging on inside) and honestly i think that that is the kind of character we need to see on screen, not someone who acts reckless because of a pubescent relationship

Not saying I want Betty to join the serpents….but stop trying to diminish what her and Jughead have to a “pubescent relationship.” We all know what they have is much deeper than that whether you like it or not.
