You go through so many different phases in life. I think, you know, life is this constant series of epiphany after epiphany of ‘oh I know this now, I didn’t know that then’ and you’re a different person today than you were yesterday. But I just think that as far as where I wanted to be 5 years ago, this is it. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Probably one of the most under appreciated scenes, and even though it’s so small and simple, it’s seriously one of my faves.
They were racing to get somewhere to help people, like they always do, but amidst all the craziness he just looks over at her and time stops and he calms down. He doesn’t even care that he took his eyes off the road, he just stopped. Keep in mind that Cora was in the backseat at the time, and he just stares at Lydia like she is the most amazing thing he will ever see in his life.

♥ /  When I started high school, I couldn’t wait to get out of Dillon. I thought that every book I read was like a rung on a ladder that I built to escape this town that was all about high school football and nothing else. And now that I’m actually getting close to leaving, I’m starting to appreciate that I was shaped by my town, that I have different viewpoint than every other person. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m surprised by how happy I am to be from where I’m from.

Food doesn’t taste better or worse when documented by Instagram. Laughter is as genuine over Skype as it would be sharing a sofa. Pay attention. Take in nature, hold someone’s hand, read a book. But don’t ever apologize for snapping a photo of a sunrise after a hike, or blogging about the excitement of having a crush, or updating your goodreads account. All of these things are good and should be celebrated. Smile at strangers on the sidewalk and like your friends’ selfies. It’s all good for the human spirit.

I don’t know about a motto to sum up entirely who I am, but one thing I’ve always lived by, and people try and convince me out of it, and I just don’t believe in it is, I’ve never been a dater. I’ve never gone on true dates before. Really, with anyone. I’ve had a few boyfriends before but I’ve never truly just gone on random dates. When people ask why, I’ve always said I feel like dates are like interviews, and I refuse to be romantically employed.
